Mike Sweeney

The Authentic Leadership Foundation is proud to announce that former MLB All-Star Mike Sweeney will be the keynote speaker for our Bring Out the Greatness 2024! event, held on the evening of Monday, December 9, 2024.

Mike is a model of the authentic leader ALF is helping schools to build; and he can speak to our mission from first-hand experience. Sweeney, a five-time All-Star and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer, is not only known for his outstanding accomplishments on the field but also for the leadership he has demonstrated throughout his career and beyond. He currently works as a special assistant to the GM with the KC Royals where he was part of their World Series Championship team in 2015. Mike’s role is to coach and model authentic leadership for the players.

The Authentic Leader Award

The Authentic Leader Award was created to encourage our youth, educators, and adults by identifying practical examples of the leaders we are able to build with our our Principled Decision-Making (PDM) Training.

Adm. Patrick M. Walsh, Ph.D.

The Authentic Leadership Foundation is proud to honor Admiral Patrick M. Walsh (retired), Ph.D. with our 2024 Authentic Leader Award. A distinguished U.S. Navy veteran and former Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, Admiral Walsh exemplifies authentic leadership through his service in high-stakes roles, including Vice Chief of Naval Operations. His leadership was instrumental in guiding U.S. military responses to crises like the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami.

Currently, as President of Cristo Rey Dallas, he fosters educational opportunities for young people, reflecting his commitment to service and bringing out the greatness in others.
