What it Looks Like to Achieve Wholeness | WT #55

The most impactful leaders are those who radiate an aura of wholeness (also referred to as integrity)—a seamless integration of their work, personal and spiritual life. This wholeness becomes an irresistible force, and it draws others towards them.

What does this wholeness look like? Quite simply, you are the same person, regardless of where you are, or what you’re going through. Be it in the boardroom, at the family dinner table, or in moments of quiet reflection, you display the same core values. It’s about consistency across all domains of life, even during turbulent times. This wholeness results in a credible persona that others find it easy to refer to and rely upon.

Often, leaders find themselves entrenched in their professional identities, neglecting the other equally vital aspects of life. However, true leadership is about acknowledging and nourishing all dimensions of your existence. As a spouse, parent, business colleague, community member, and a child of God seeking a closer relationship with Him, each role you play adds up to your comprehensive identity.

As we begin the summer season, we may might find moments of tranquility and introspection (less common during busier times of the year). These are golden opportunities to ponder upon the profound implications of living a life where every domain is seen as a part of your ‘business’. Wholeness, after all, is the ultimate embodiment of leadership. And that, my fellow leaders, is how we journey towards it.
